    6th Grade:

    Overarching Theme: Frontiers

    Periodic Table of Elements:

    Dmitri Mendeleev created the table by looking for patterns within the properties of the then-known 61 elements.  After learning about Mendeleev and investigating the Periodic Table, the students will rotate through 3 stations: an element scavenger hunt, an examination of a variety of element samples, and an exploration of elements using an interactive periodic table app. 

    Next, each student will choose one element to research further in order to develop an element baby book on Keynote.  Their baby books will not only allow them to demonstrate their learning, but provide each student a chance to incorporate creativity.
