• The Reading Room at Nottingham Elementary would like to extend a warm welcome to the 202-2024 school year!

    Title 1 Reading is supplemental reading instruction that is provided in addition to the core reading instruction your child receives in their homeroom. Children receive support in phonics, fluency, comprehension, and vocabulary. We are in contact with classroom teachers to ensure we are meeting the learning needs of each student. In addition, we regularly assess students to ensure that we are providing instruction tailored to meet their needs. It is our hope to promote and foster a lifelong love for reading and to share our enthusiasm for literacy with students and their families.

    The importance of home involvement cannot be stressed enough! Reading aloud with your child is a great way to increase their vocabulary, to model good reading, and to work on comprehension skills. Practice does make better readers!!!

    It is our goal to help your child develop into a confident, competent reader who enjoys reading! Please do not hesitate to contact the Reading Room with any questions you may have throughout the school year.
