• A Message from the Superintendent on inclement weather plans

With the threat of winter weather, I wanted to brief stakeholders on the District plan of action for inclement weather during this period of hybrid and virtual instruction.

The District has the ability to continue with virtual instruction at all grade levels during what would typically be a closing event for schools. However, we will take into consideration potential power issues within the District boundaries when determining an all-virtual day or a weather closing day for all schools.

Like in any regular year, we will monitor weather and make the earliest call to stakeholders that we can, based on the latest weather information. The difference this year, with our ability to provide virtual instruction, is that all parents and students must be prepared to have school continue virtually at any given time. This means that all students must have their appropriate internet connection devices and appropriate hardware at all times. Students will be sent home with devices each day of the week that we are expecting inclement weather.

Please be aware that virtual instruction during inclement weather days may be live, recorded or a blend of both. All instructional model communications will be through our Blackboard Messenger phone service and other venues for each given day during inclement weather seasons.

Transportation will not be provided by the District for any outside school venues on days designated as virtual only or closed due to weather events.
