Class Information
The Reading Room at Nottingham Elementary would like to extend a warm welcome to the 2019-2020 school year. Title 1 Reading is supplemental reading instruction that is provided in addition to the reading instruction your child receives in his or her regular classroom. Children receive support in phonics, fluency, vocabulary, and comprehension. We are in constant collaboration with the classroom teachers to ensure we are meeting the learning needs of each student. In addition, we regularly assess students to ensure that we are providing instruction tailored to meet their needs. It is our hope to promote and foster a lifelong love for reading and to share our enthusiasm for literacy with our students and their families.
The importance of home involvement cannot be stressed enough. Reading aloud with your child is a great way to increase their vocabulary, model good reading, and work on comprehension skills. Practice does make better readers!
