    Update 3/20/20

    Math Essentials 8

This is an historic event, and although I am confident that we will all be back in class at some point, I do not know exactly when that will be.  That being said, it is more important than ever to get healthy- mind, body and spirit.

Let’s start strong with some serious math brain training. Remember your brain is like a muscle, the more you use it the stronger it gets!

Also now that you do not have to worry about the PSSAs and are able to really work on your level one resource I encourage is Khan Academy math practice. Depending on level, one of the following courses are likely appropriate:

However, the best way to get the most out of this opportunity is to start, regardless of level, on Kindergarten and then move to 1st grade, 2nd grade, etc.

Course challenges and unit tests can be used to accelerate through material. If you don’t have too many gaps, you should be able to get through a previous year’s content in 1-3 hours. If you do have gaps, it may take a bit longer, but that is good!  This is your chance to fill in those gaps that might otherwise hold you back in the future.  Do an hour a day during the week.

The app is on all of your Ipads, if you forget your username and password, you can reset it or create a new account and use my class code:   KVES2VVY

    Or this link:https://www.khanacademy.org/join/KVES2VVY

Any questions, just reach out via email.

I hope everyone is safe and healthy.  Be cool to your family and I look forward to seeing you back at school!
