Mrs. Lisa Ann Summers

Mrs. Summers is very proud to be an Oxford Graduate. Her love of music was nurtured by all of the wonderful teachers and mentors in the surrounding Oxford Area School District and community. She was further inspired by the wonderful professors at West Chester University and received her Bachelor's and Master's Degree in music education with a concentration in Orff. She began her career in the Rosetree Media School District where she spent eight years teaching middle school general music and directing choral music. In this position she also directed several musicals at the high school level and assisted with color guard work alongside the Penncrest Roaring Marching Lion's band. In 2008, she moved back to the Oxford area and began teaching both second, third and fourth grade students in music at Nottingham Elementary school as well as directing the fourth grade band.

She is currently teaching fourth grade general music at Nottingham Elementary School as well as fourth grade beginner band lessons and ensemble. Her fourth grade band students enjoy sharing their music through concerts in both the winter and spring as well as our annually celebrated "Fine Arts Night."

Along with her teaching duties, Mrs. Summers is the director of music at a local church, where she directors a childrens and advanced handbell choir, senior choir, and plays piano. She is currently an active member of the New Holland Band where she plays clarinet. She also carries a small private studio of piano and instrumental students.

Mrs. Summers has two beautiful daughters who enjoy music and perform with the Oxford Area High School Band!  Her husband, Mr. Summers, attends A LOT of performances, and is our biggest fan and supporter!

Mrs. Summers hopes along with a strong fundamental understanding and appreciation of music that she instills in her students a passion for music as a fun, enjoyable life long choice.  Music is about the journey, the friendships we make along the way, and the joy and love we share as we make our music together.
